This year, for the Indo-Pacific theme, the Foundation has explored the geopolitical and economic evolutions in the areas of Soft Cooperative Security and the Resilience of Free Trade at a global level.
What are the wider security challenges affecting the Indo-Pacific and Europe since 2020 (pandemic, climate change, disruptive technologies, financial imbalances, energy transition, illegal trafficking, cyber, piracy, terrorism, etc.)?
How can regional cooperation, multilateral institutions and other partnerships address risks and optimise main opportunities?
How does globalisation evolve and the relationships between economics and society? How important are partnerships with like-minded partners in the supply chain reconfiguration? And how compromise is possible with non like-minded countries?
What are the potential cooperation areas between Taipei and Italy (e.g. economic security policy, trade and investment, technology, R&D and human talents)?
The hybrid seminar featured two panels, with in-person sessions held in Italy and remote contributions from relevant speakers in Taiwan.
